European for a Day

Posted under Indulgence

It’s been ages since I visited a spa for a massage. Last time was October last year at The Spa Podium where I spent P1,050 for a massage in a private room (less 10% because I used a Metrobank Femme cc) plus tip of course. I had a hilot home service last holy week in Pangasinan (P100) but that was still like four months ago. And so I finally went to the spa last Saturday for beauty combo swedish/shiatsu combination massage and facial.

Danielli European Day Spa is located in Libis, a few minutes away from my place (call 6356875 for appointment). It’s on the 3/F so expect a little hike cos there’s no elevator. The place is not anywhere near what The Spa offers but it’s homey and cozy just right if you’re on a budget. If you’re the type who finds high end spas overwhelming, go here. There’s a nice locker and shower room. (I love the slippers!) The staff are friendly. It also helps that I went there during the first hour of opening (they’re open M-Sun 1pm to 10pm) so I have all the attention. hahaha.

Anyway, I loved the facial (P450, deep cleansing) because the facialist (Letty) didn’t prick my face (there was no need to). She said that I only need facial once a month for maintenance because my pores are fine. Must be the fact that I don’t go out everyday or the products that I use are effective in maintaining healthy skin. The facial massage is fantastic. I enjoyed it this time because I didn’t wear contacts. Definitely will have a facial again and next sked is October.

Right after the facial, I was offered a glass of iced tea. Soon after I finished it, the massage (P400, common room; P600, private room) commenced. I chose to have it in the common room which turned out to be like a private room cos I was the only one there. I don’t like sauna anyway and I didn’t have time for a jacuzzi so this worked fine for me. The pipe-in music is soothing too although you can still hear the sound of vehicles passing by outside.

Anne, the therapist, applied the right kind of pressure, a bit harder than my usual dose but I instructed her to concentrate on my upper back. The soothing massage lasted for an hour. I feel instantly rejuvenated. My back doesn’t hurt anymore and my headache is gone. I need a massage every two or three weeks so am scheduling my next outing either on the 19th or 26th.

After the beauty session, I went to the mall and looked around. I didn’t find what I was looking for but enjoyed trying on the shoes and luggage on sale. I almost bought a dress but I realized that there’s no party coming up. hahahahaha. Next time, definitely.
