The Joys of Living (Alone)

Posted under Life Lessons

I love my life. I love my family. I love my bf. I love my friends. I love my pets. I love a lot of things.

I love living alone. My aunts who come to check on me once in a while just don’t get it. Almost always they would tell me “Really, you like living alone?” or “Always check on your locks” or “Oh, but it’s so sad to live alone.” Hahahaha.

Well, to each her own. Although I love the company of my parents and friends, living on my own, doing things for and by myself has become trivial. I learned a lot from this setup. I need to work for everything that I want. Nobody will do things for me. And I value self reliance anyway.

I fix the leaking faucet (done that a few times), unclog the sink, clean the house, do the laundry, cook, wash the dishes, pay the bills, in short take responsibility.

The bottomline here is, living alone has taught me things that I never thought I’d have the resolve to accomplish.
