Queen’s Independence
Posted under HolidayIt’s the start of a long weekend. Yey! On Monday, it’s a holiday both in the Philippines and Australia. Now why would both matter to me? I live in the Philippines and I work for an Australian company (so we follow OZ holidays). This is the first time in a long while that am having a holiday with the rest of the Philippines. It’s Independence Day for the Philippines and Queen’s Day for Australia. Monday June 9 is not the actual Independence Day but June 12 but due to holiday economics whatever that means and because anything is possible in my country, June 12 is moved to June 9 but celebrations will be held June 12. Whew! Don’t waste your time figuring things out, hahaha. Monday is a holiday in the Philippines for another day.
I don’t have plans of going out of town. In fact I could have joined my mom, bro and aunts for a road trip today, to our farm in Pangasinan but I chose to just take a rest and stay home. Everytime my brother drives for mom to our provincial house, there’s a party of sorts in our city house and vice versa. Today is no exception. The road trip entourage will have either lunch or dinner at our house and enjoy my mom’s cooking as always. Today we had adobo (a favorite road trip ‘baon’) and fried porkchops. Any road trip with my brother (the eldest) wouldn’t be complete without his favorite Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdogs. And since I bought Gardenia pandesal earlier they took some too. The pandesal is Magnolia’s favorite. Magnolia is my dog, a cross between japanese spitz and poodle.
Before I digress any further, I am contemplating on how to spend this long weekend. I plan to watch a movie tomorrow, do some shopping or just wander the nearby malls. I am also thinking of updating my websites (Spells and Charms and Health and Beauty Lifestyle). Perhaps I’ll just work out, sleep more, watch tv, movies, clean the house, set up my desktop, and so on.
I’ll just be spontaneous and see where my mood will take me.
Happy Weekend!
